King Alfred P. Diete-Spiff OFR DF Seriyai II. Amanyanabo of
Twon-Brass Kingdom. First Military Governor of Rivers State a
position he held for eight consecutive years (1967 – 1975) and a
member of the Supreme Military Council. He is also the Chairman
Bayelsa State Traditional Rulers Council. Patron TROMPCON
(Traditional Rulers of Oil Minerals Producing
Communities).
His Majesty is a Diver, Aviator, Mediator, Arbitrator, Peace
Builder and Golfer extraordinaire. Chairman/Managing Director
Bereniger Group Limited. Grand Patron HOSTCON (Host Communities
Producing Oil & Gas in Nigeria). His Majesty's tenure as a
Military Governor between 1967 - 1975 charted the path for
greatness in Rivers State and Southern Nigeria at large. He built
institutions that still serve humanity till date while also
focusing on mass scholarship both local and foreign for indigent
citizens of his dear state.
He was educated at St. Joseph's College, Western Cameroon and
Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, England. He joined the
Nigerian Navy and was commissioned Ships Diving Officer in 1964.
At 25, he was a Naval Lieutenant Commander and appointed Military
Governor of Rivers State in 1967. He is the Chancellor of Bayero
University Kano, Nigeria (BUK). He is a man of great repute, an
elder statesman and an all-round sportsman; with golfing, fencing,
swimming, boxing, diving, and piloting as his hobbies.
